Immigration & Dialysis

Posted on December 7, 2016

Fun times! Who wouldn’t just love to go through more immigration stuff while being on dialysis? But really – We just filed to remove conditions on Barry’s green card. He was granted a conditional two year green card after we were married. Now we have to show proof that we are a legitimate couple. This is going to be another long process, meaning it could take up to a year to hear back from the government. So, fingers crossed! On the dialysis side of things, the hemodialysis going quite well. He’s got the Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday schedule and with the exception of him having to wake up extremely early, things are good. Hopefully, next week they will start the training for the peritoneal and…

NOA2 Baby!

Posted on July 19, 2013

Well, it’s official. I take back every bad thing I’ve ever said about Texas. On a whim, I checked our status online – We’re Approved! I couldn’t believe my eyes and I believe the words “you’re fucking kidding me” were repeated a few times by none other than me. Now it’s official, our timeline has been blown out the water. Things are happening much faster than I anticipated. I’m not sure how it’s going to work, but we’ll make it work. Now we’re not done yet, there’s still more waiting, a medical and an interview, but we’re almost ready to be Vegas bound! And side note: We were approved on July 19 – 7 years ago we met in person for the first time.

Transferred to Texas

Posted on July 10, 2013

So apparently the Vermont Service Center is having a bit of difficulty. I don’t really know what it is, but they’ve been teaching Texas how to handle the Fiance visas. After seeing some activity on the forums I frequent, I decided to log into USCIS and see what our status was – We were transferred to Texas today! Now after a bit of research, this is in fact a good thing. The first couple of batches sent to Texas have received NOA2s within about 3-4 weeks on average. So this means our timeline could be moving up a bit. Yay! So, long story short, I may be taking back every bad thing I’ve ever said about the state of Texas.

Birthday Gifts

Posted on April 23, 2013

It’s my birthday, and it’s been a pretty decent one at that. It’s been just over a week since I sent the paperwork and was starting to get worried. I got in the habit of checking my bank account to see if/when the check was cashed. Well, I checked this morning at about 9:30 am, and I had quite the surprise. Not only had they cashed my check, but I also received my tax return refund. The government loves me today! At about 3:30 pm I received the text message and email listing our receipt number and saying our case was received. The NOA1 is in the mail and should be here in 7-10 days. So all in all, a good birthday.
