A whole lotta stuff

Posted on July 9, 2013

Well, it’s been a while since I’ve posted here. Mainly due to time constraints combined with a bit of laziness on my part.

Also, lots of things have been going on:

The end of May saw the 12 year anniversary of my brother’s death, helping my mom pack up her house and move the rest of my things to Florida, seeing my niece graduate high school.

June was filled with getting the hang of my new job, aka getting thrown into the fire pits of busy season and not knowing, well anything, as well as a few family get-togethers.

July is being filled with work, paperwork, family outings and apartment hunting. Mainly the paperwork and apartment hunting. Side note: apparently I’m a “princess” for wanting something as simple as a washer/dryer hookup in a 1 bedroom apartment. Side rant: Really! People in one bedrooms don’t have laundry to do? WTF?

So in other words, life has gotten in the way of regularly scheduled updates. Hopefully that will change in the coming days, weeks, months and years.

All the small things

Posted on May 20, 2013

As a dual country couple going through the immigration process, planning in advance is something we pretty much have to do. From the biggies like the wedding, to the small things like a cell phone plan and about a million things in between, all of it has to be planned to an extent.

Flowers

Posted on April 30, 2013

I got a surprise delivery today. Roses, and quite a few of them. Lovely. Also with the delivery came a box of chocolates and a hidiously neon pink vase. Thank goodness we have lots of clear vases.

But really, it was a nice surprise. He’s only sent me flowers once before (daisys for Valentine’s Day one year) so it was completly unexpected. Especially given I’ve been sick the past couple of days. So yay! Flowers!

Vegas baby!

We are going to do the traditional Vegas route, get married by Elvis. That’s just a given. Now comes the part where I get to do research (what is it with me and researching now?) and try to figure things out. If anyone has any suggestions, hints, etc. please let me know. I have no idea where to start.

Birthday Gifts

Posted on April 23, 2013

It’s my birthday, and it’s been a pretty decent one at that.

It’s been just over a week since I sent the paperwork and was starting to get worried. I got in the habit of checking my bank account to see if/when the check was cashed. Well, I checked this morning at about 9:30 am, and I had quite the surprise. Not only had they cashed my check, but I also received my tax return refund. The government loves me today!

At about 3:30 pm I received the text message and email listing our receipt number and saying our case was received. The NOA1 is in the mail and should be here in 7-10 days.

So all in all, a good birthday.
